Soft Cell played their farewell show at The O2 in London on Sunday 30th September 2018.

The gig was a thrilling, 2hr 40 minute celebration of the band’s finest moments from their 40 year career.

Marc Almond and Dave Ball were in fine form as they played some of their biggest hits, B-sides, album tracks and fan favourites. Kicking off this mammoth performance was early club hit Memorabilia, the underground success of which allowed the duo to record another single, Tainted Love. The rest, of course, is history. And how we being immersed in the past tonight.

Instead of diving straight into the hits and favourites from the debut album, the band then opted to relight a few tracks from their last studio album (from 2002), Cruelty Without Beauty, including its first single, ‘Monoculture’.

What followed was a grippingly nostalgic flash of remembrance, taking in albums Non Stop Erotic Cabaret, The Art Of Falling Apart and This Last Night In Sodom.

This was a show for true fans. Throughout a performance that nudged three hours, the crowd were treated to popular B-sides Barriers, So, Insecure Me, the horror masterpiece Martin, and new track Northern Lights.

The show was supported by Duckie DJs Readers Wifes.
